Independence Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervor at Konkan Bhavan
The Konkani Christian Association (R) Mysuru celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 15th August 2026 at Konkan Bhavan.
The program commenced with Mr. Vincent, the Master of Ceremonies, extending a warm welcome to the gathering with a brief introductory address. At exactly 8:55 AM, he set a patriotic tone for the event by leading a soulful rendition of the national song, Vande Mataram.
Following this, Mr. Keerthi formally invited the KCA President, Mr. John William Dsouza, to do the honors of hoisting the National Flag. Promptly at 9:00 AM, accompanied by Mr. Charles, the President unfurled the tricolor. The entire gathering then stood together to proudly sing the Indian National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
Mr. John William Dsouza then delivered an inspiring Independence Day speech, reflecting on the significance of freedom and the shared responsibilities of the community.
To conclude the formal ceremony, Mrs. Joyce Sequeira, the General Secretary of the Association, proposed a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who joined the celebration. The morning concluded on a warm note of fellowship, with a delicious breakfast arranged for all the guests and members present.
